Phase-change thermal layer

A material that temporarily absorbs or releases heat as its internal constituents change phase, helping buffer temperature fluctuations. Limitation: It has finite thermal storage capacity and cannot continuously produce warmth. Phase-change materials have already been investigated for prosthetic socket comfort.
